The original
company, Stanton Techniques, Inc. (STI) was founded in 1987 for the
purpose of developing improved padlocks and padlock related security
hardware. In 1993 the name was changed to Stanton Concepts, Inc. (SCI), and
in 2005 to Stanton Concepts, LLC. SCI currently has a large portfolio of
intellectual property.
Management Team:
The principle, Robert W. Loughlin, a graduate
mechanical engineer served four years in the U.S. Army, three as a Liaison
officer on NIKE program stationed at the Bell Telephone Laboratories.
Following military service he spent nine years with the Hewlett Packard
Company in various service, manufacturing and engineering capacities. In
1975 he, and partners acquired the Waterbury Lock and Specialty Company. At
Waterbury he was responsible for engineering, product development, and
manufacturing. Since 1980 he has been involved with The American Society for
Testing Materials (ASTM) chairing the task groups responsible for the new
standards for Hasps and Attachments (F 2155) and Privacy Padlocks (F 2348).
Specific product involvement has included one-time use tamper indicative
devices (TID) seals such as PrivaSeal, padlocks, padlock attachments,
specialty security devices such as Tufloc™, and weapons securing hardware
for the Department of Defense, Nine issued patents have resulted from this
work.
John
P. Loughlin joined Stanton Concepts in 2002 and is responsible
for general management and concept development. From 2000 to 2002 John had
been at Jedai Broadband where he was a founding member and led the Physical
Design Group. From 1992 to 2000 John served in various management positions
with Johanson Manufacturing Corporation, a leader in the design and
manufacture of high precision electronic and fiber optic components. In
addition, John served as the Managing Director of Johanson's Swiss
subsidiary. Prior to this time, he served in engineering management
positions at E-Systems, a provider of sophisticated communications systems
for the US government, LICOM Inc., a manufacturer of fiber optic
transmission equipment, and General Optronics Corp., a manufacturer of laser
diodes and fiber optic communication systems. John holds several patents
relating to fiber optic devices.
